Birds Flocking North By The Thousands

Intel Hub

June 11, 2010

Shepard Ambellas

In a farmers field in Tennessee, birds arrive by the thousands. Gathering to woodland areas and power lines. This behavior is not typical to standard fall migration pattens. Could this be a direct correlation with the gulf oil spill; a vision of what is to come for mankind?

you make it look like there’s a VIDEO OF BIRDS. this is just some guy TELLING us about birds. Show it, without that u have a rumor.

  3. Hope the humans are paying attention and following the birds north. Their lives too, may depend on voluntary relocation.

First, the guys said “middle of summer” I believe twice in the short video. Today’s date is June 11th, meaning we are still in Spring, the middle of summer would be sometime in August.

Secondly, if the birds are Grackles, they fly in flocks of thousands or millions, they are not a migratory bird. The fact they have a large flock of grackle means nothing, as I see them frequently in their huge flocks in TX. They are a nuisance and farmers hate them, and will shoot them or scare them away. I know this because my cousin has a farm in south TX and they frequently speak of the problems they have with the thousands of grackles that fly on their land.

Also, it would be difficult to tell what direction they were flying, so to say they were flying north because of the oil spill is silly. Please be sure I am outraged over the oil spill and am extremely worried about it, I just don’t think the grackles have anything to do with it.

Could have something to do with the recent sun activities. The sun has been acting up and solar storms are striking the earth.

We have a marxist wannabe dictator in the white house who understands he will not be willingly elected again, and faces a complete loss of power after November 2010. Prepare to defend your property.

    Spotted an Altamira Oriole http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/639/overview/Altamira_Oriole.aspx
All the way up in Montana, just North of Billings. They normally stay in the gulf of Mexico along the Eastern side of Mexico. I was amazed to see this bird up here.

Well If These Birds Are Doing Something They Shouldn’t Be Doing Normally.,Then They Know Something We Don’t,We Should Be Following Them!.,They Are More In Tune To The Earth Than Humans Are.We Used To Be Before Outside Distractions,I.E.,Television,Computers,War On Terror,Financial Melt Down,Oil Spill Disasters Etc.

I watched a flock of @100 Canada geese up high and headed north on June 9. I am located on the 45th parallel. Around here the goslings are hatched and growing.
I thought that is VERY strange – so late in the year.

America..you have killed us all with your greed. This leak is unstopable..Pandoras box is open and can never be closed.Enjoy your love affair with oil, theres no shortage anymore is there?…soon you’ll be drowning in it..just like you always wanted.
    Good one..

  13. dslarsen says:

Uh, anyone point out that the season we’re in now isn’t fall, but spring? And that birds typically go north in the spring?

  14. fox says:

Like dslarsen said, birds fly south in the fall and north in the spring/summer. So of course they woild be flying north

  15. BirdBrains says:

I believe Birds normally migrate North for the spring/summer as they are coming back from the south! Just pointing out the obvious. Person should have gotten a better shot of birds.

  16. Liz says:

I read somewhere recently that in the next year or so there will be a massive shift in the ’tilt’ of the earths axis which will catastrophically affect the climate of nearly all countries – the only ‘safe’ place to be, and the only place that will be ‘hospitable’ to human or animal existance will be countries of 65 degrees northern latitude, i.e Lapland. I guess we will have to wait and see…

  17. Tricia says:

Here in southwest Florida our macaw parrots have been acting very strangely since early April (2-3 wks before the 4/20 DeepWater Horizon explosion, but guessing maybe about the time the large plumes began developing from the other larger Gulf seabed fractures nearby?) Vet checked our parrots out fine. Our macaws have been exhibiting higher stress sensitivity and much more anxiety, so we’ll be abandoning our Florida home and heading north soon. Living 2 miles from the Gulf coast within a protect wild bird sanctuary, we’ve noticed the bird activity had declined enormously lately, so all these birds have gone somewhere?

  18. Al says:

They are probably responding to the off-gassing of chemicals in the Gulf waters as well as the burning they have just started a couple days ago. There are huge plumes of black smoke billowing into the skies from their controlled burns. These plumes of smoke are probably saturating the air and they are sensitive to it. Smart birds!!

  19. Tom Johnson says:

I think the birds are migrating north to Tennessee to celebrate and attend the July Gore Family Reunion involving the 2 divorced Gore daughters and Al and Tipper themselves. The birds plan to circle above the Gore household and drop white frosting on the festivities to show America’s appreciation for Tennessee’s greatest politician.

Wow, what an amazing number of birds I saw in the video. Must have been at least 3. Get your shotgun out and take a shot at the forest and get em to fly around around or something to make the video more interesting.

  20. yaridanjo says:

If this is true, this is very bad. Animals do not think rationally, instead they are driven by signals projecting future catastrophic events.

Looks like the FAA is closing down the Gulf of Mexico to ‘unauthorized’ aircraft…This coming as a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued late Wednesday night that just popped up in my flying emails this morning
    http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_0_5100.html#areas
No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM (except as described).

If the sea floor collapses, a pocket of oil as big as mount Everest could be released into the gulf with the associated toxic fumes such as benzene.

  21. Please stop with the fear mongering. The oil came be cleaned successfully through Bioremediation, tiny microbes that eat the oil without any nasty side effects. Spillfighter.com has cleaned several oil disasters already, they are ready and willing to clean up this mess. Write your congressmen.

The video was shot with a Flip Cam so the quality is quite low for any distance. The reason you can see the power lines at all is because they are covered with birds( sorry about the confusion) I did however find out what sort of bird they are, Red Wing Black Birds. Even though the calender day for the end of spring is June 21st i assure you it is summer here. Flocking behavior in the 1000s is not typical in mid june for middle tennessee and is quite unusual. This time of year most birds(here) have fledgling young and are busy feeding them. I hope there is some logical explanation for the flocks ive been seeing other than toxins and related stress from the BP Oil nightmare…but as far as i know it is the only thing “different” than usual going on in the region. There is also a mysterious bleaching and killing of plants and Purple Martin (birds) in Millington Tn about 140 miles south of my location…documented local memphis news channel…

  24. 7yph0on says:

    @ octaviameister

    You are correct. Common Grackle.

    @ rik

Wow man you blame America for the spill? Why? Because it happened close to our shores? Did you know BP is named after British Petrol and is located in the UK?? Sales for BP are even more for Europe than America. as in: Europe: 43%, USA: 35%, Rest of the World: 22% So next time know what you’re talkin about before runnin yer mouth

    @ Everyone else

Nothin to do with any spill or any pole flip or who is in the @#%$ white house…

  25. Joe in JT says:

The birds are flocking to San Fransico’s Tobaga Bay. They all miss Alfred Hitchcock and the hot blonde chick Tippy Hedren. Like the drunk said at the bar in the movie…”It’s the end of the world”!

  26. Tianca says:

Watching animal behavior is a good thing to do, they are in tune with the planet a whole lot more than we are. You can bet on that. I’m in Illinois, and this year there are a lot more birds, of all kinds flying around. They are spread out, but they are definitely here. This is not like a Spring migration, I don’t care what the calendar says! They migrate a lot earlier than now, normal flocking is in March or May, not now!!!

Getting away from danger is what they do. It’s inherent. If people don’t want to pay attention to the warning, they don’t care. They just do it, self protection.

Remember the guy in the movie with the Tshirt? “If you see me running away, try to catch up.” That’s the same idea.

My point is, where do you run to get away from a really huge methane bubble rising up from the seabed, when it can take out all of North America in one fell swoop, in the resulting explosion? Even the smart birds won’t escape this one. This will affect the whole planet.

In response to octaviameister; Firstly; June 21 is the middle of summer! This is the longest day of the year and the sun effectively begins moving south. Secondly; if you took the time to find out what is realy going on around the Gulf region you would know that toxic gasses are blowing in from the ocean causing many people to get ill and the birds and wildlife are fleeing.
This is a massive disaster and too many people are just playing it down to the detriment of the Gulf region and the benefit of BP and the other oil companies.
