Water and Sand Samples From Siesta Key Sarasota Indicate 173 PPM Oil Contamination

The Intel Hub

Testings the Water – A Citizen’s Initiative has just posted water and sand samples showing oil contamination hundreds of miles south of the Florida panhandle on Florida’s west coast.

The test results show that the sand samples taken in Sarasota Florida contained 173 Parts Per Million of Oil Contamination.

No oil detected in Water Samples, but 173 mg detected in a Sarasota shoreline sand sample. Explanation will follow documents….

Interpretation – Thermocline stratification is causing dispersed and micronized (10-100 micron diameter) to slip into the shoreline from beneath the surface water, which explains why numerous water sample results throughout the Gulf region have been negative, thus far, despite the fact that we know there is massive oil and dispersant in the Gulf.

The sand is acting as a “bioaccumulator” or “nucleating factor” for the aggregation of the oil from the water, and as time progresses we expect increasingly higher concentrations. 173mg/Kgram or 173 ppm is exceptionally high, considering a child, for instance, playing in the sand with a bucket near the water will begin to have water pool up that may contain high levels of oil and/or dispersant residues and metabolites, and to which that child would be exposed.

This video explains the thermocline stratification and supports our interpretation (Note: I do not agree with their interpretation with lower concentrations of Corexit being “more toxic.” I am waiting for this group to respond to my request for supportive evidence on this claim).

We must press forward and get more sand samples, to confirm the generality of this phenomenon throughout the Gulf region.

Video Description:

What happens when Corexit dissipates and becomes more diluted? It becomes more toxic!

This can be a tough idea to wrap our heads around at times. “How can less ppm be more toxic?”

Attached below are a few sites that may give some explanation.

The last one is the EPA’s own MSDS! On it they openly state that corexit is MORE toxic with less concentration. As to why? None have put in the detailed study or released their findings as to why. My own thoughts are akin to a histamine reaction when there are lots of corexit molecules present and that when there are less of them the body does not ‘recognize’ them as a threat and permits the passage of the oil membrane destroying compound into cell structures.
