An Alabama police officer allegedly hospitalized an elderly man who called 911 to report an accident across the street from his house while his wife watched the entire beating from her wheelchair.
The Courthouse News Service reported that 84-year-old Dorsey Henderson of Fairhope, Alabama called 911 after investigating the car accident and discovering that the driver of the vehicle was severely intoxicated.
Henderson told the driver of the car he was under citizens arrest and needed to wait near his car until police arrived.
When Officer Trent Scott arrived on the scene, Henderson attempted to inform him of the driver’s belligerent behavior and that the driver had been placed under citizens arrest. The officer allegedly told Henderson there was “no such thing as citizen’s arrest in Alabama,” and to “get out of the way, old man.”

The United States has become worse than all of the James Bond villains combined. It must be stopped.
Ok…. easy readers, dont belive everything you read from a paper/news agency.
We only get the “dirt” of the story for the “headlines” There is iam sure alot more to this story. Plus i agree about bad cops, more and more of them are getting caught… and thats a great thing. We still need to support the local cops, it is a communication thing. There IS alot of good, honest cops out there that risk their lifes for yours. I ask you remember the following:
Cops die too, check the “officer down” page. Bad cops are the bad apples and the departments that hire them, more reports and use of force issues like this will weed out the bad cops, and help the public trust.

Not a lot at all. And on the site you mentioned, most officer fatalities are from causes like heart attacks, car accidents, and such. And I haven’t found one case when they protected somebody. Chased a criminal – yes; responded to a call – yes; protected – no. It’s not their mission to protect, not to mention to serve. Their mission to enforce the law. And, FYI, in the US the number of arrests just for smoking marijuana is more than for all violent crimes.
The job of police officer mainly attracts the types striving for power; another type is those who were bullied in school when they were kids, so they strive for the “revenge”. Altruism and self-sacrifice is not exactly a widespread agenda among that crowd. Plus, after 9/11 there was a lot of anti-terror indoctrination coming their way from the feds, teaching them to see every citizen as an enemy and suspect until proven otherwise – coupled with anti-terror training and expensive gear. The bottom line, if you need help, and you are stupid enough to call police, your chance to be beaten, tased, arrested, charged with crime you did not do, or even killed is far greater than to be rescued or helped.
…If these so-called “good” police officers know about illegal behavior by “BAD” cops, and do nothing to expose them,…they are NOT “good” cops !,..We all know that it’s an unofficial policy in police departments that they “..Go along to get along” with regards to the “bad apples”.,..That is why most of the public fears,or despises our “peace officers”,..remember when they were called “public servants”?,..their motto..”To Protect, and Serve…”.,What a joke.,With cops being as they are,and our politicians, with very few exceptions, owned by the filthy rich, and totally corrupt, there is zero chance for reform,…except by a mass, popular overthrow by the people.,..yes,revolution,..our own “Arab Spring” is coming, and the powers that be KNOW it,That’s why our cops look more like the military every day,…the “Fema Camps”,Patriot Act,and shredding of our Bill Of Rights has been deliberately done to facilitate the downfall of society as we knew it.,…time to move to the wilderness, and be self-sustaining if you want to survive the coming storm of street violence that will engulf the cities first.
