New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg criticized the Occupy Wall Street protests today, suggesting that their days were numbered and said that the banks actually deserve our support.

In a bout of Orwellian doublespeak, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg used his radio address today to hand out criticism to the Occupy Wall Street movement, calling the policies of the protesters misguided.

In an effort to sway public opinion , he represented the movement as one that is protesting against the low income earners on Wall Street who make between $40,000 – $50,000 a year.

Everyone knows these protests aren’t against the mailman or the IT guy working at Goldman Sachs.

They are clearly against the super elite who use the bottomless pit of money they have plundered and pillaged from the mailman and the IT guy to buy off our politicians and destroy the global economy.

He went on to say that while people have a right to protest, people on the street also have the right to get to work unmolested. Clearly, a baseless claim but none the less the kind of rhetoric that politicians will use to rouse anti-protester sentiment.

This kind of manipulation of public opinion is almost as bad as Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly picking a protester to interview who has strong communist views.

Of course there will be a nut ball or two at any protest. So Fox found a guy to go on nationwide television and say he wanted to tear down capitalism and replace it with communism.

There are no protesters down here at Liberty Square that are molesting people trying to get to work. Communists aren’t the people powering this movement. Finding a communists or two at Liberty Park is no different from finding a white supremacists or two at a Tea Party Rally.

The protesters are pushing for a real, people powered democracy. Not communism, not Socialism, but reform of the corrupt system that continues to suck the wealth and prosperity out of the middle class and hand it over to the rich.(Including the Federal Reserve)

People, it is time to turn off the TV.  We can not allow the campaign of lies and manipulation by the Wall Street owned corporate media to dissuade us from our cause of bringing substantive change to our corrupt political system.

It is time to get our politician’s out of the pockets of their corporate and globalist overlords.

Finally don’t forget, Bloomberg is the 1%. We are the 99%.

Alexander Higgins, socialism or communism is by definition people-powered democracy…let’s define terms accurately and not let liberty become license…haven’t you heard of ‘Animal Farm’? comparing communists to white supremacists is ludicrous…let’s encourage all to be a part of this movement.

nice one, michael embry! i was about to make a similar point. communism is marx’s idea and we shouldn’t dismiss it as we’ve never seen it practiced. not in russia, china or elsewhere. leaders who have operated under a ‘communist’ banner were either misguided or dishonest (ie mao, stalin etc) and gave the world a bastardised view of communism, normally actually state capitalism. i nearly don’t blame the author for his ignorance due to the staunch propaganda system that the western media feeds people, which was particularly exacebated by sen joseph mccarthy in the us, among others, for their own selfish gains. the same media-fuelled deception has affected socialism as well, but a number of fine documentaries (south of the border, the revolution will not be televised etc) show how socialist leader hugo chavez, practicing a pragmatic adaption of socialism, is a fine leader who helps the poorest venezuelans, whereas the typical capitalist leader helps the bankers. i don’t think we necessarily have to abandon capitalism to save the world, but we do have to modify it at least. we must re-regulate the banks, remove the private national banks (federal reserve, bank of england etc) and destroy the wbo. it’s nonsensical for these organisations (national banks and wbo) to be privately-owned when they have such control over the global economy. organisations with such power must be benign and answerable to a moderating council (eg: the un, if it had due authority i.e. if its rulings were respected by america and china, among others).

Seems the more money politicians have at their disposal, the more reckless they become with The U.S. Constitution. The looney tune left wing are rabid hypocrites as they demonize wealthy people and corporations, yet support the idea that only the richest can be elected President, Mayor, or other positions that are controlled with and by money.
