Police State: Park Ranger Tazes Man For Walking Dogs Off-Leash

A California man was tazed from behind by an overzealous park ranger after attempting to walk away from the ranger when she refused to explain to him why he was being detained.
The confrontation started after the man was stopped over having his two dogs off their leashes in an area that allowed off leash dogs for years and had just recently changed the rules.
Instead of calmly explaining the new rules to the man, the park ranger attempted to detain him while at the same time refusing to tell him why.
A Yahoo News article reported on this disgusting display of the ever evolving police state in America.
“It was really scary,” said Michelle Babcock, who said she witnessed the incident as she and her husband were walking their own dogs. “I just felt so bad for him.”
The unnamed park ranger reportedly confronted Hesterberg about his dogs. Hesterberg, who said he wasn’t carrying his wallet at the time, allegedly gave a false name. The ranger asked him to remain at the scene but Hesterberg instead attempted to leave before he was shot in the back with the taser.
Babcock said Hesterberg had repeatedly asked the ranger why he was being detained. “He just tried to walk away. She never gave him a reason,” Babcock said.
Ten years ago Park Rangers were some of the nicest people in America. Now, after 9/11, The Department of Homeland Security has trained local police forces of all kinds that the American people cannot be trusted and should be treated as possible terrorists.

It seems pretty clear that this ranger needs a “tune up” asap.
The park ranger is a fraction of a human being.
Like it or not, but the man was in violation, park ranger was enforcing the law, even if 1 day old law does not matter; the man disobeyed lawful order and tried to escape, so the ranger was justified in using reasonable means to stop him. The man now can be charged not only with the dogs offense, but also with giving false name and attempting to leave the scene.
What do you think the ranger should have done when the man tried to go away – just let him go?

If you think tasing someone for the alleged commission of a non-violent offense is reasonable, you have a pathological devotion to authority and should never be allowed to vote or sit on a jury. By the way, if he didn’t have his wallet, then how did the ranger know he gave a false name?
The ranger should have radioed for backup, followed the suspect and taken photos for investigative purposes, that’s what she should have done. Instead, she turned into a bully when this guy didn’t kowtow to her tin-plated authority. I hope she gets a dose of her own medicine soon.

STK33 – Let me see if I understand your thought process correctly.
A park that HAD allowed unleashed dogs to walk and RECENTLY changed the LAWS/ORDINANCES …..Can allow a Park Ranger to PHYSICALLY ASSAULT (with a TAZER which can result in death in a small number of cases if said recipient has a known/unknown heart problem) a US Citizen because a said perp WALKED (Not RUN) away, in a non threatening way and CHOSE not to give up his identity for such a minor infraction. By the ommission of any verbiage in the article, the said UNLEASHED dog was not showing signs of aggression or misbehavior – (Also not mentioned by other witnesses passing by with their own dog) AND YOU THINK THE PARK RANGER WAS JUSTIFIED AND IN THE RIGHT!
Now consider the root cause of the problem shall we:
1) Why was the Law/Ordinance changed to begin with?
Most likely because a previous dog had bitten someone and the LAWYERS MADE LOTS of MONEY via LAWSUIT – Park Reaction – Change the Laws of the PARK…..NOT the TRUE LITIGATION PROBLEMS BECAUSE IT”S too costly and the LAWYERS have too much power.
2)POSTING a sign NOW gives Law enforcement the right of search and seizure, detainment, physical assault at will with no due process, dignity or respect to a US citizen.
3)ALL these types of laws are primarily driven and designed as revenue generating sources. Sign most likely states under penalty of law,$250 dollar fine, and/or imprisonment. Thus you either pay the fine, or higher a LAWYER to fight the fine. If you don’t higher a LAWYER….your odds of winning drop 85% unless you spend your own time and money to do the research and take time off of work etc…
When the true solution to the problem is:
Post a sign that says……UNLEASHED dogs allowed. Enter at your own risk. If your dog leashed or unleashed causes harm to another dog or person, you may be liable and and found to be criminally negligent resulting in a criminal conviction and/or face a lawsuit.
Please help us keep this park friendly for everyone. If your dog tends encroach on others, this may cause unnecessary stress or fear for others. Please use sound judgement and use a leash.
The most ironic part of this entire incident and your comments: We can’t ask for green cards for possible ILLEGAL immigrants even when the LAW stops them for a traffic infraction.
But we can TAZE a legal citizen for walking in a park and chooses not to disclose their identity. The dog had really nothing to do with the incident. IT was two attitudes that clashed:
One Free citizen vs a Law Enforcement trying to invoke power over that citizen. Serve and protect remember….Not Do it my way or else!

sad to say but the way cops are educated in the laws is disgraceful. HE WHOM DOESN’T KNOW HIS RIGHTS HAS NONE.

Now seems to be just the right time for sociopaths to apply for jobs with authority. Apparently, any authority at all.
In the 80′s this would’ve been a scene from a PJ O’Rourke comedy, with the overly authoritarian park ranger talking on her radio, using lots of “10″ codes then maybe getting dog poo on her shoes or something.
But I suspect now, due to this frightening confrontation, they’ll have to arm the park rangers with assault weapons, body armour, and possibly even armored vehicles to reign in scofflaws such as this article mentions. The Park Service may even need a drone or two.
“Mall ninja” escalation is definitely warranted here.

Observations
1. Kudos to Ms Park Ranger- way to show common sense and restraint and promoting good public relations. tazing a dog owner from behind also shows a lot of courage.
2. Unfortunately, park rangers ARE law-enforcement officers. They are hired to enforce whatever “laws” our masters deem fit- and they are NOT serving the public, who are slaves, and not worthy of respect or dignity.
3. We the slaves need to keep in mind that the parks are NOT for our enjoyment. Parks are put there as a display to fool us that our masters want to do good things for humanity, but they don’t really want us to enjoy them. That’s why the armed personnel to make us feel so welcome when we visit.
4. Let this little vignette serve to hasten the awakening that this whole false world the masters have created is the most cocked up mess imaginable, and as long as we accept their mastery, it’s only going to get worse, per their agenda, not get better.
