Polish publishers and developers CD Projet RED has gone ahead and shared near-final estimated earnings that the company managed to reach in 2020. The posting reveals that the company has gone through record sales of 2,139 million PLN which is roughly around $563 million, and that is not all, the company also shared the net profit of 1,154 million PLN, which roughly becomes $303 million.
CDPR has also talked about how they will be sharing the final audited results that are going to be revealed on April 22nd, later this month but things might not be changing.
For those wondering, the company managed only 521 million PLN ($137.17 million) in sales revenue and 175 million PLN in net profit ($46.07 million). The revenue and profit from 2020 are also a lot higher than what the company managed to make back in 2015 when CDPR was launched.
The major reason behind this success is of course the release of Cyberpunk 2077, which ended up being one of the biggest sales in gaming history, and despite the game still being in a dire state, the revenues are telling a different story, altogether.
Of course, all this success might lead one to believe that this is going to hinder the development of Cyberpunk 2077 and its future, but CDPR has ensured that the company is thoroughly working on the game and will be improving the game even further. Cyberpunk received another incremental update in the form of 1.2.1 earlier this week but the game still requires a lot more ironing out to take care of all the issues.
With that said, we also need to know that CD Projekt RED is also working on a couple of DLCs as well as next-gen console update for both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, so if you are still waiting for the games, you can actually get the full experience if you wait just a while longer.
