It has been a long time since fans have been waiting for Elden Ring; a game that was made by From Software, in collaboration with the legendary Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. Little was known about the game until today when they have decided to fully unveil the game, showcased a gorgeous and gloomy gameplay trailer, revealed the release date, and also told us more about what the game is all about and trust me if you are a Dark Souls or Sekiro fan, this is for you.
First things first, Elden Ring is coming out on January 21st, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. Owners of the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will get the chance to upgrade to next-gen versions for free.
IN addition to that, the game is heavily inspired by the same lore that inspired Dark Souls, and that makes the game look more like Dark Souls than it looks like Sekiro, but in more ways than one, the game is different. For instance, this is the biggest game From Software made, and has a seamless open world.
You can check out the trailer below.
For those wondering what the game is all about, here is an excerpt from the official press relase.
In the Lands Between ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal, the Elden Ring, the source of the
Erdtree, has been shattered. Marika’s offspring, demigods all, claimed the shards of the Elden Ring known as the Great Runes, and the mad taint of their newfound strength triggered a war: The Shattering. A war that meant abandonment by the Greater Will. And now the guidance of grace will be brought to the Tarnished who were spurned by the grace of gold and exiled from the Lands Between. Ye dead who yet live, your grace long lost, follow the path to the Lands Between beyond the foggy sea to stand before the Elden Ring.
And become the Elden Lord.
We cannot wait for Elden Ring to release and see how it turns out.
