Rockstar has finally announced when the next-gen version of the hit GTA V is going to be releasing. According to the official announcement, GTA V is going to make its way on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 11th, later this month.
We were already told that Rockstar is going to release the game later this year, but the date was not confirmed. That changes now. However, in addition to that, Rockstar has also announced that the upcoming updaters to GTA Online are going to bring special benefits for players to take advantage of once the GTA V release on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
This is what the official announcement on the post reads about the upcoming content drop.
Plus, in honor of the upcoming 20th anniversary of the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto III, we’ll have even more fun surprises to share — including some specifically for GTA Online players
Rockstar previously announced that the standalone version of GTA Online is going to be available for free exclusively for the PS5 owners during the first three months after the release.
While the standalone version of GTA Online will be available to players on both platforms, this new standalone version of GTA Online will be available for free exclusively to PlayStation 5 players during the first three months. And PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4, make sure to claim your GTA$1,000,000 by visiting the PlayStation Store at the start of each month — every month until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5.
GTA V is currently available across PC and current, and both previous generation consoles like the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The title can also be played on next-gen consoles using backwards compatibility. The same updates are also going to make their way to GTA V on PC, in case you are wondering.
