PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds seems to be overhauling one of the big desert maps, Miramar, as the developers have announced that they are looking to remaster the plan. However, the announcement does not come alone as the developers are also introducing two new battle royale maps and the features that will slowly spread across the game.

This announcement was made by PUBG Corp while they were outlining the roadmap for the game for this year. The company plans on going for a major remaster to Miramar, and this will not be the first time as the map did go through a minor touch-up, but with update 12., the desert map is going to witness a significant rework in the form of lighting, performance, as well as better graphics, and topography.
Expect to see big overhauls to terrain and building textures and layouts, easier traversal with the removal of unnecessary obstacles, and even updated cliffs to better fit in the more vertical experience the game has become.
However, the more interesting announcement comes in the form of the tease of two new maps. While we do not know enough about the new maps, they are codenamed “Tiger” and “Kiki”. Tiger is going to be the next major addition once Miramar is remastered, and is finally introducing respawns to PUBG. The feature is already available in other battle royale games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, but the game is also receiving some more updates.
As for Kiki, that map is due in late 2021 or early 2022 and will be featuring a lot of towering skyscrapers, as well as underground complexes, and the developers have promised that this map is going to be one of the most frightfully dense urban warzone.
Honestly, it is about time that PUBG is getting the updates and new maps, as well. More information will be revealed as it becomes apparent.
