Breaking News: Flood Wall fails At Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant

A flood wall at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant has failed, leading many to speculate as to the consequences.
Floodwaters surrounded several buildings at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station early Sunday morning after a water-filled wall collapsed.
The plant, about 19 miles north of Omaha, remains safe, Omaha Public Power District officials said Sunday afternoon.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is monitoring the Missouri River at the plant, which has been shut down since early April for refueling.
The 2,000-foot berm collapsed about 1:25 a.m. Sunday due to “onsite activities,” OPPD officials said. The Aqua Dam provided supplemental flood protection and was not required under NRC regulations.
Considering the face that the NRC has a long history of cover ups, it seems safe to say that whether or not the plant was safe, the NRC would claim the situation is under control.

FORT CALHOUN, Neb. (AP) – A berm holding back floodwater at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station has collapsed.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission says it’s monitoring the Missouri River flooding at the plant, which has been shut down since early April for refueling.
The 2,000-foot berm collapsed about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, allowing the swollen river to surround two buildings at the plant. The NRC says those buildings are designed to handle flooding up to 1014 feet above sea level. The river is at 1006.3 feet and isn’t forecast to exceed 1008 feet.
Recent independent radiation reports have shown normal background radiation levels which indicates that there most likely has not been a release of radiation from the plant, at least not yet.

The external power we were told could not fail … has failed. Fort Calhoun’s cooling system is running on the emergency backup generators. They have fuel for 88 hours (less the time they have already been operating) unless the flood waters short out and shut down the generators or pumps.
So basically, the nuclear power plants the US Government told us were safe are in danger of a major radiation release because the heavy snow pack the US Government told us was a thing of the past has produced heavy flooding which has overwhelmed toe flood controls systems the US Government assured us did not need repairs or upgrades.
That about sum it up?
Whether or not this news will cause a release of radiation is unknown but you can be sure that The Intel Hub will bring you tests and information independent of the NRC and the corporate controlled media.

Potential problems are not limited to diesel generator power. Cooling pumps uptake river water for cooling the spent fuel as well as the reactor. These pumps are vertical centrifugal pumps. The pump volute is necessarily situated below normal river water level. Atop each pump frame sits the electric motor that drives the pump. The motor is just above the pump. At this point all the pump assemblies are below the level of the water. If water enters an Nth motor case, (they are not waterproof), that pump will stop. Restart would be a very long process, as the electrical windings would be wet and silty and the motor would have to be re-built to avoid or eliminate shorts. I believe that there are 6 pumps, but of course they’re all essentially identical. It’s hard to imagine that conditions that flood one pump room will not flood all of them. Some people might think that choppering in some emergency diesel fire pumps might be a prudent precaution.
I have been covering this story for weeks because I had a very strong feeling this was going to happen, where are the government warnings of a potential imminent nuclear disaster? Who would of thought flooding in the middle of the state could maybe cause the same problem as over in Japan. This is a good example of why we need renewable energy and I hope soon people will start to care about it where i live (5 miles from a nuclear plant) for virginia alternative energy and virginia renewable energy solutions. The power was cut to the station today, the transformers were flooded.The media is silent, even in the wake of Fukushima.
Well, first off, the bladder didn’t just suddenly for no reason collapse. It was punctured at about 1:30 am in the night. Imagine that. Wonder what kind of puncture it was and whether it was caused by accident or was it intentional sabotage? Am I the only one that cares to ask?
These are the questions real news and information gathering people would want to know so as to add to any investigative concerns that might be going on behind the scenes.
Anyway, we have heard enough of what awaits us. Time to get over if its going to happen and begin looking for when it begins to happen because something tells me all the dams and all the dominoes have been lined up just waiting for that falling domino that will begin the chain reaction from all the remaining nuclear reactor sites.
Add in the concerns for all the spent fuel rods and melt downs and anyone can quickly see that this matter should be front page news, but instead we are inundated with murder trial vixens in Florida and complete silence from the main stream lame media. Even the great Alex Jones is only concerned with the economy and world war III but not some national disaster that is as global NWO as it gets.
Add in billionaire George Soros trying to buy up the flooded lands and well, it begs the question, where is Alex Jones? and why is he so unconcerned about the destruction of Americas heartland, farmlands, properties and human suffering? Where is he indeed.
Oh well, I have no doubt we will see and hear much more of these reactor sites in the very near future when it will be not stop coverage and warnings for everyone to run for their lives with what they can save before Obama declares a dead zone that no one is allowed to travel in or reside in.

I also suspected sabotage…. the fact that the berm was ‘accidentally’ punctured at 1:30AM is also really suspicious. If you also look into it some more (at Rense) you’ll see that MSN put up a photo of the punctured berm, but then immediately yanked the story.
According to USGS, the Ft Calhoun water levels are still near the peak so far…

And as for Alex Jones, his silence is not surprising to me. I have not listened to him in over 2 years now.
